Initially you should train your dog to wear a collar. The collar should be of right size. It shouldn’t be too large to come out of its neck or it shouldn’t be too small tightening its neck.
There should be a gap of a thumb between the collar and the skin of the dog. On the very first day your puppy may feel it very disturbed and it will try its level best to remove it.
After a constant number of failures it will give up the try. In a few days it will get adapted to it and will feel comfortable. You have to wait patiently till this.
Then choose a leash to tie to the collar so that you can take your puppy for a safe walk. A leash is a lengthy rope that is tied to the collar in order to have the control of the animal.
You should now train your dog to walk over the leash. Initially it will try run away when you take it outside for the first time. You should make your dog understand that it can go only up to a particular distance.
It should be of enough length that your puppy should feel free to walk. Ignore bad behavior of your dog and never allow yourself to be pulled by your dog. You should stop whenever your dog pulls you.
After you stop walking make your puppy to come near you and then start walking again. If your puppy pulls on the leash again stop do the same again. This will frustrate your dog and it will not pull you.
Finally your puppy should come to the decision that it cannot go far when it is tied to the leash. Constant repeating will make your puppy to understand this.
You should practice your puppy walking on leash at least 5 minutes initially.
Training an adult dog also involves the same procedure. But training an adult dog is more difficult than training a puppy.
So start your training when you bring home your puppy.

3) Some dogs, especially the smart ones, start scratching the door and start pulling your trousers to draw your attention to the fact that they are bored.
4) If your dog loves a lot of activity and he gives up running around and playing with you, it might be signal that he is bored and he needs a new toy or a new activity.
However if your dog is not himself, you need to ascertain that he is not ill. If he is not ill, he needs some action in life. If you have time, you can take him to the nearby park or take him on a long walk.
However, if you are busy you can get him a new toy and open the door to the backyard and let him slip out and have some fun with the butterflies and the toads.

Is that person now famous or something for saying that? Well, that is beside the point. Training an old dog is similar to training a new dog.
Though it may take longer because of its previous habits and ways, it is possible. Nothing is ever impossible. Well, except teaching your dog to fly.
That is impossible. Dogs don’t have wings. I got off subject again, didn’t I? In this article, I will be giving you tips for dog house training your older dog.
These tips may also be used for a puppy as well. House training is a very difficult stage that you go through when getting a puppy.
Since puppies don’t know much, they like to go bathroom wherever they feel like it, which may be on your carpet or bed or both.
An older dog that is untrained will do the same. The best way to stop this behavior is setting a time schedule for taking your dog outside. Start with about every thirty minutes.
Don’t break the time schedule or your dog will continue going pee-pee on your favorite rug. If this does happen, which believe me, it will, soak the stain with a paper towel.
Hold your nose and bring the paper towel outside and place it in an appropriate bathroom place. Have your dog smell it by putting its nose in it.
This will teach them that that spot is where they can go to the bathroom and not in the house. Keep up with this schedule.
Soon, your dog will alert you when it needs to go to the bathroom by standing near the door. Don’t take too long or there will be an accident on the floor next to the door.

Dog House Training – Common Problems and How to Deal With them

3) Some owners find trouble communicating with their puppies as they get distracted easily. They might take a little bit of time but they will get used to fact that they have to listen to your no matter what.

Therefore, it is advisable to change the food products that you have been getting till now.
5) Your dog might not be ready to get into its crate and stay. Well the problem might be with the crate itself. It might be less spacious or made of uncomfortable material.
The problem could just be that the crate has become dirty and you simply need to clean it up. Once you figure out that your dog is having problems with, it is easier to find a solution for it.
